SARAJEVO, December 18 (FENA) - The Agency for Promotion of Foreign Investments in BiH (FIPA) presented awards to the most important investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2018, at a traditional event "The Biggest Investor in BiH for 2018", which was held today in Sarajevo.

The concept of the event has been slightly changed in a way that the list of the awarded enterprises includes 12 companies, unlike previous years when four most important foreign investors were selected.

The awarded companies that come from different industries are Carpet Center, Čapljina, Ferretto Group Central Europe, Nsoft, Mostar, Swisslion, Trebinje, Zeochem, Zvornik, Wiener Insurance Vienna Insurance Group, Banja Luka, Kolektor CCL, Laktasi, Messer BH Gas, Geomet, Olovo, Grand Hotel Neum, Pirnar, Bosanski Petrovac and Al-Shiddi International Swissotel Sarajevo.

In this way FIPA wanted to give recognition to these foreign companies, and to thank them for their contribution to the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and provision of new jobs for BiH citizens, and the overall growth of economic indicators on the basis of these investments.

In the last two years, BiH recorded continued increase in foreign investments. In 2017, BiH registered 777 million KM in foreign investments, which is about 40 percent more than in 2016.

The growth trend continued in 2018, and for the first six months, foreign investments totaled at 452 million KM.

FIPA Director Gordan Milinić emphasizes that today's event was crown of our work in recent years, but we have not summarized everything yet, and the final figures are provided by the Central Bank of BiH, which records the investments and money flow.

“Our data is pretty accurate and we can say that we have a record increase in foreign investments since October 2016, while 2017 was a record year with 777 million KM in foreign investments. This year we have official results only for the first half of 2018, and the results are approximately at the last year's level with 452 million investments so far,” said Milinić.
