SARAJEVO, December 16 (FENA) - The exhibition "Suscitans conscientias" (Awakening of Consciousness) by painter Rikardo Druškić, opened at the Sarajevo City Hall on Friday evening.
The cycle lasted for four months, and the goal was, as Druškić told the media, to prove to himself that he could overcome his impatience.
The works deal with "collective consciousness within which he draws out himself as an individual," and he questions his feelings that he transferred on the canvas within this cycle.
"We live in a world where collective consciousness is at a very low level, and in that sense, it is very difficult to make any significant social changes. But what we can safely change is a state of personal awareness, so we have to deal with that," said Druškić.
The exhibition contains 12 works that the author compiled working in mixed media, combined technique, mostly acrylic on canvas, but he also used spray paint, magic markers, marker pens, and oil paint.
He announced that the "Awakening of Consciousness" exhibition will be traveling to Vienna next February and it will be on display in Brussels in April 2019.
The exhibition at the Sarajevo City Hall will be open until January 14, 2019.
