BANJA LUKA, December 14 (FENA) - Republika Srpska (RS) will examine the possibility of withdrawing from the agreement which established the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik today.

He pointed out that the former RS representatives "were forced to give up on the RS Army" and that "a brutal pressure was put on RS, so that the Armed Forces of BiH could be formed," said Dodik and added that, “at the same time, Kosovo was granted the right to form its own army and a part of the international forces have stood behind this decision.”

“This will be an opportunity for us, under the Annex 1 B of the Dayton Agreement, to consider our participation in the agreement on the formation of the Armed Forces of BiH, and the RS will do so in the shortest possible period. We will examine the possibility for withdrawing from the agreement on establishment of the Armed Forces of BiH through the competent institutions,” Dodik said, stressing that “all decisions that are to be made on this issue without the RS will be a sign for the entity to put a question mark on this agreement, which will also be the same approach to other jointly made decisions on the issues in BiH.”

He claims that the BiH Armed Forces are not in the interest of the peoples in BiH, but “they are there to serve the needs of NATO.”

Dodik also says that he personally, and not the BiH Presidency, "rejects any possibility for Kosovo to form its own army and stands behind the decisions of the Serbian leadership on the issue.”

“I will launch an initiative to condemn the formation of the Kosovo Army at the level of the BiH Presidency, because it directly threatens Annex 1 B of the Dayton Agreement with regards to regional stabilization,” said Dodik after the meeting of top RS officials on the issue of activating the Membership Action Plan with NATO for BiH and the RS position in the light of the entity parliament’s resolution on military neutrality.

He emphasized that a part of the international community has supported this decision of the authorities in Pristina and that "this decision has endangered the regional stability as of today."

Dodik also claims that "the attack on the Serbs in the north of Kosovo is an attack on all Serbs, and it will be a sign for the Serbs in RS to defend their acquired rights and the constitutional order as foreseen in international treaties, rejecting any kind of international interventions".

At the meeting of top RS officials on the issue of activating the Membership Action Plan with NATO they reiterated that “RS remains true to the parliamentary resolution on military neutrality, does not support the activation of the MAP for BiH and demands from Serb representatives in the BiH Council of Ministers not to deal with this issue because they come from RS and they should respect the decisions of the entity parliament.”

Dodik also reiterated that “RS does not support Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession into any military alliances until Serbia makes its final decision, as a signatory and guarantor of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH, about its attitude towards its potential accession into military alliances.”
