Darko Marčetić, SIPA inspector in Banja Luka, arrested for abuse of authority

SARAJEVO, December 7 (FENA) - The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) conducted this morning an arrest and search in the framework of activities in the processing of suspects for abuse of authority and corruption.

The police arrested Darko Marčetić, born in 1974 in Prijedor, employed as an inspector of SIPA in Banja Luka.

He is suspected of acting in collusion with persons who conducted illegal import of sports medicines and a certain amounts of cannabis, abuse of his official duty and extorting money from suspects in order to unlawfully intervene in their protection against criminal prosecution.

After the arrest, the police carried our search of the premises used by the suspect.

The suspects will be handed over to the acting prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, who will interrogate the suspect and then decide on further  actions in this case, the BiH Prosecutor's Office said.
