Indictment filed against Predrag Lažetić for war crimes in Gacko area

SARAJEVO, November 23 (FENA) - Predrag Lazetić, who was a member of the White Eagles paramilitary group and a Bosnian Serb Army soldier, was charged with mistreating 11 Bosniak prisoners in Gacko in June 1992.

The Bosnian state prosecution filed an indictment on Friday charging Predrag Lazetić with mistreating 11 Bosniaks who were being illegally detained in the town of Gacko in June 1992.

Lazetić was charged with committing war crimes as a member of the White Eagles paramilitary group and then as a Bosnian Serb Army soldier.

“He has been charged with torturing, abusing, causing injuries to and inhumanely treating 11 Bosniaks during their unlawful detention at the Gacko thermal power plant’s Samački Hotel,” the prosecution said in a statement.

The indictment has been sent to the state court for confirmation, BIRN reports.
