BIHAĆ, November 13 (FENA) - Ambassadors of the Netherlands to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, Reinout Vos and Henk Voskamp visited Bihać and Velika Kladuša to gain a true insight into the ongoing situation with migrants in this part of the country.
“We were really impressed with the way local authorities in Bihać are dealing with this situation. This is a relatively small town, which is not even economically powerful, but it tries to adequately respond to one of the biggest challenges.
There is no lack of support from the European Union and international organizations, but more concrete support is needed from both, the state and Europe,” saidAmbassador of the Netherlands to BiH Reinout Vos.
Mayor of Bihać Šuhret Fazlić said that the Dutch Ambassador Reinout Vos was interested in the situation with migrants from the very beginning.
“We are very grateful to the ambassador because he is trying to help. Each time we repeated how we hoped that our country would protect us, and the European Union would significantly help us. However, this time I can tell him that the competent state institutions have done almost nothing to solve the current situation with migrants,” Fazlić stressed.
Ambassador of the Netherlands Reinout Vos said that in order to put this situation under full control it requires rapid realization of two segments of state and international action - adequate control of all Bosnia and Herzegovina’s borders and humanitarian approach to migrants who have already entered BiH.
