International Youth Seminar marking the centenary of the end of First World War

SARAJEVO, November 12 (FENA) - International youth seminar was held in Sarajevo from 7 to 12 November, marking the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Together with other participants, French Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Guillaume Rousson, and the Charge d’Affaires of the German Embassy in BiH, Christian Sedat, attended the seminar.

In a statement to reporters, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of remembering the victims of the Great War.

The project within which the seminar was held was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany and France under the marking of the centenary celebration, and the Ambassador believes that a good job has been done and announced the continuation of support for similar projects.

He emphasized the importance of peace building reminiscing the French-German experience of reconciliation that was built after the Second World War and the establishment of the European Union.

Chargé d’Affaires of the German Embassy, ​​Christian Sedat, told reporters that the organizers of the seminar wanted to point out a common European memory of the First World War and the importance of intercultural cooperation among the young people.

Participants of the seminar "Peace Building 1918-2018" included 12 young people from BiH and four each from Germany and France.

The event was organized by the Youth Initiative for Human Rights in BiH and the ZFD Forum, in cooperation with the embassies of Germany and France in BiH.
