SARAJEVO, November 11 (FENA) - The 'Bravo' organization, in cooperation with the Red Cross Novo Sarajevo and a partner organization from Italy, gathered in Sarajevo representatives of young people from 15 European countries at a conference on the situation regarding migrants, as one of the the burning problems in Europe in recent years.

Žaklina Ninković spoke at the event about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She told FENA that the Red Cross of BiH faces many challenges related to the migrant situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of fulfilling their humanitarian mandate.

She insists that there should be a coordinated approach of all stakeholders - state and international organizations and the non-governmental sector in resolving the situation related to migrants. Ninković believes that a solution is in a systemic approach, but that it all takes a lot more time.

"I see this conference as an opportunity to present the situation and we try, in all sorts of ways, to appeal to everyone to get involved as much as possible in providing assistance to those people who have been on the move for months," she stressed.

She noted that refugees and migrants come to BiH, mainly from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Iran, Iraq.

"The number has increased since the beginning of the year, and the capacities that we have are limited. The biggest problem is accommodation, especially adequate accommodation, given the arrival of winter. At present, the most critical situation is in the Una-Sana Canton," she said.

The Sarajevo conference is part of an international project that is being implemented in five participating countries on various topics. The final project planned to summarize the results will be held at the end of the calendar year.

The Sarajevo-based 'Bravo' organization deals with human rights, rights of persons with disabilities, minority rights, and through their activities cover various issues.
