Minister Jusko at the meeting of Ministers of China and CEE countries

BELGRADE/SARAJEVO, October 16 (FENA) - A delegation of the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Minister Ismir Jusko, is taking part in the Third Meeting of Transport Ministers of China and Central and Eastern European Countries, China - CEEC 16 + 1, which is being held today in Belgrade.

The meeting was opened by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. In his address to delegations from Central and Eastern European countries, Chinese Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng emphasized the potential and importance of infrastructure linking between China and CEE countries within the Chinese Belt and Road initiative in all modes of transport, but also in the IT sector, highlighting the initiated activities between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina on interconnection in the field of air transport.

Announcing the next meeting at this level that will be held in Croatia, Minister Xiaopeng presented the possibility of establishing a common list of infrastructure projects of CEE countries, that is, the ‘16 + 1’.

In his concluding words, Xiaopeng highlighted China's key objectives in cooperation between China and CEE countries, such as providing greater support for infrastructure connectivity, and further strengthening the dialogue in the area of ​​maritime transport, initiating a session of all maritime traffic administrators and the Chinese organization of a roundtable to promote ecologically safe and sustainable maritime and river transport.

Among these objectives are the improvement of cooperation in the development of logistics corridors, as well as supporting bilateral cooperation in capacity building of personnel, the possibility of studying and training in China, all with the aim of achieving common prosperity.

In his address before the Chinese and the ministers of the CEE countries, Jusko emphasized strategic commitments, initiated and planned activities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the area of ​​infrastructure connectivity, with a special emphasis on the construction of the motorway on the Corridor 5-C, based on the adopted Framework Transport Strategy of BiH, and regional connecting for the purpose of economic development, stated the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH.
