SARAJEVO, October 15 (FENA) - Project "Good Practice and Experience in area of Tourism in Blidinje Nature Park", within which a joint brand of agricultural producers has been created, which supports local economy, ecological tourism and accommodation quality standard, was presented in Sarajevo today.
Head of Sector of Operations for Economic Development, Natural Resources and Infrastructure at the EU Delegation to BiH Andrea Vera stated at today's press conference that this project was part of the "EU ProLocal" program, which is implemented with support of the European Union and Government of the Republic of Germany to BiH towards economic growth and creating new workplaces.
Vera emphasized that many activities have been implemented to improve the tourist offer of Blidinje, such as presenting information on the Park's website, making an application and mountaineering map.
He emphasized that tourism in BiH has great potential, which is still not completely developed and that BiH has a lot to offer when it comes to tourism, such as nature and history.
Apart from this project, Vera added they also support other tourist projects, such as "EU4Business", adding that call for proposals will be announced in February 2019.
Program Manager of EU ProLocal - GIZ Karin Hörhan emphasized this program has been working on constant improvement of economic and tourist sector in BiH over the past three years and they focused on Blidinje National Park to upgrade the tourist offer in area of Herzegovina.
"EU ProLocal, together with its partners from Blidinje Park, has shown how forces can be joined to improve and promote tourism," concluded Hörhan.
