Four Serb ex-policemen indicted for crimes against humanity in Vlasenica area

SARAJEVO, October 11 (FENA) - Three former Bosnian Serb policemen and a former soldier were charged with involvement in the murders of at least 16 Bosniaks and the persecution, torture and abuse of civilians in the Vlasenica area.

The BiH Prosecution on Thursday charged Simo and Zoran Stupar and Goran Tešić, former police reservists at the Public Security Station in Vlasenica, and Zoran Tešić, a former Bosnian Serb Army soldier, with participating in attacks on villages inhabited by Bosniaks in the Vlasenica area, including Džamdžići, Alihodžići and Gradina.

The murders of at least 16 Bosniaks were committed during the attacks, as well as the persecution of several dozen civilians, including minors.

The four men were also charged with detaining people at the Sušica detention camp in Vlasenica and the Public Security Station building in Vlasenica, as well as pillaging houses and other property owned by Bosniaks and setting them on fire.

The indictment has been filed to the state court for confirmation, BIRN reports.
