SARAJEVO, October 5 (FENA) - Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Semiha Borovac today signed contracts with beneficiaries of funds intended for implementation of the Action Plan for the improvement of the status of Roma, and support to non-governmental organizations.
The value of the contracts signed with beneficiaries of the grant funds of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees is 2,350,000 KM.
“Of this amount, two million KM are grant funds for the implementation of the Action Plan for improving the position of Roma in the field of employment, housing and healthcare,” stated Minister Borovac.
Through the Roma Decade, BiH committed itself to allocating significant financial resources in order to mitigate the problems of Roma, the largest national minority in BiH.
Even after the end of the Decade, the allocation of funds for the integration of Roma in the BiH society has continued with the aim of providing better living conditions by solving their housing, employment and healthcare issues.
Director of the NGO Sumero Haris Haverić and the President of the Union of National Minorities of the Republic of Slovenia, Franjo Rover, expressed gratitude and support for the implementation of similar projects in the future.
