Award ceremony concludes Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival

SARAJEVO, September 26 (FENA) – Screening of a documentary "Arkan's Legacy: The Serbian Mafia" by French director Jerome Pierrat, which unveils information about the life of an notorious criminal Željko Ražnatović Arkan and Serbian criminal scene, closed first Al Jazeera Balkans (AJB) Documentary Film Festival.

This documentary was screened twice during the Festival due to great interest of the audience and it is one of the 23 films that were presented.

Award ceremony was also held on the final night of the Festival, where the first prize went to two films, "Why Slavery? A Woman Captured", directed by Bernadett Tuza-Ritter and “Of Fathers and Sons" by Talal Derki, and the Special Recognition went to “The Russian Job” by Petr Horky.

Around 3000 viewers saw 23 films that were screened during five days of the festival in three selections. Some of the films will be broadcasted on Al Jazeera Balkans soon.

Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival AJB DOC is the international documentary film festival that was organized by Al Jazeera Balkans in cooperation with Al Jazeera Media Network and Al Jazeera Media Institute from Doha, which was held in Sarajevo on 21-25 September.
