SARAJEVO, September 24 (FENA) - The training center for peacekeeping operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted a friends of PSOTC meeting in Sarajevo today, attended by more than 30 participants from 11 partner countries - Albania, Austria, France, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Norway, Qatar, Turkey, USA and BiH), NATO HQ Sarajevo, EUFOR and UNDP, as well as the Ministry of Security of BiH and the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH.
Recognizing the importance of cooperation with partners in securing peace and security in the world and the role of appropriate training and education for future peace support operations, the Ministry of Defense of BiH organizes once a year a meeting with current and potential partners of the Peace Support Operations Support Center (PSOTC), ready to support the work of this center through the partnerships.
The purpose of the meeting was to inform the current and potential partners of PSOTC about the achieved training results in 2018, the plans for 2019, the concept of a possible future role of PSOTC in training for peacekeeping operations for both BiH Armed Forces and police and civil servants in the BiH institutions and to consider and develop possible forms of future cooperation in the field of training and education for the OPM that is being implemented in the Center.
