SARAJEVO, September 24 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of BiH Marina Pendeš and Chief of Joint Staff of BiH Armed Forces Lieutenant General Senad Mašović and associates received today Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to BiH Matthew Field in an inaugural visit.
Pendeš welcomed Field in BiH and added she hopes and expects successful cooperation to continue between the two countries in area of defense.
Field was informed about activities of BiH MoD and AF towards achieving the strategic goals and activation of the NATO Membership Action Plan and they also discussed results in process of registration of perspective military property, solving surplus weapons and ammunition, fight against corruption in defense system, implementation of the UN Resolution 1325, and BiH's contribution and participation of BiH soldiers in peacekeeping operations within NATO, UN and the EU.
Field supported Euro-Atlantic integration process of BiH and emphasized that he and his government remain fully committed to supporting BiH, Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of BiH in fully meeting the necessary standards to be ready for a full integration in NATO and the European Union, BiH MoD stated.
