SARAJEVO, September 23 (FENA) - The signing ceremony of two new EU-funded mine action projects will be held on Monday, 24 September 2018, at the EU Delegation to BiH/EUSR in Sarajevo.
The EU has provided more than EUR 46 million for the mine action programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1996.
Two new projects are funded under the Instrument contributing to Stability and Peace (IcSP) in the total amount of EUR 1.1 million with the aim to support mine clearance of BiH and establish a strong partnership among responsible institutions and key actors.
The contracts will be signed by Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the EU Delegation to BiH Khaldoun Sinno, BiH Minister of Civil Affairs Adil Osmanović, BiH Minister of Defence Marina Pendeš, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in BiH, Sukhrob Khoshmukhamedov and the Norwegian People's Aid Regional Director for SEE, Sven Jonas Zachrisson, who will deliver opening remarks on this occasion.
The event will also be attended by the representatives from the Armed Forces of BiH, the EUFOR, the Demining Commission, and the BiH Mine Action Agency (BHMAC), announced the EU Delegation to BiH.
