Presentation of Green Climate Fund project worth USD 125 million

SARAJEVO, September 23 (FENA) - The Green Climate Fund (GFC) for the first time will secure USD 19.5 million for Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to mitigate the consequences of climate change.

The funds will be used through two projects - "Increasing investment in low carbon public facilities" and "Improving the adaptation process to climate change in climate-sensitive sectors" (NAP), will be presented to representatives of the state, entity, cantonal and municipal authorities in Sarajevo on Monday.

The total value of the projects with the co-financing of the BiH institutions is USD 125 million and will be implemented by the UN Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with domestic institutions.

The UNDP Resident Representative in BiH Sukhrob Khoshmukhamedov and Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology of Republika Srpska, Srebrenka Golić, who is the contact point of BiH for the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Green Climate Fund, will be present at the presentation of the projects, announced the UNDP.
