SARAJEVO, September 23 (FENA) - In the past mandate of the FBiH Government, the revenues of the defense industry have more than doubled since the Government realized the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a huge potential for the development of the defense industry and therefore has shown a clear commitment to development of this industry sector, said FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić.
"I am proud of our work and the results. The total revenues of the entire defense industry in the period from 2012 to 2014 was only 289 million KM, and in the period from 2015 to 2017, a total of 598 million KM," stressed Novalić.
He underlined that the net profit of the defense industry increased for the same outlined period by 108 million KM.
"In the period from 2012 to 2014, this industry operated at a loss of 23 million KM, while in the period from 2015 to 2017 the industry had positive results, with a profit of 85 million KM," emphasized Prime Minister Novalić.
Novalić added that the production processes have been improved and are in line with the requirements of the global market.
The defense industry, Novalić noted, employed 2,200 people in 2014, and three years after, it employed 3,400 people, which is an increase of 1,200 jobs, according to revenue growth, profit growth and modernization, is the best indicator of success.
