SARAJEVO, September 19 (FENA) – Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Fadil Novalić emphasized that the world standard in mandate of every government is reform in one of three big areas, and the current Government of FBiH simultaneously launched three big reform processes.
"Government I am running managed to complete the reform of labor-legal legislation, pension system and it started the third reform, which is related to law on contribution and taxes," stated Novalić.
He believes that Government of FBiH, with numerous obstructions and complex structure in the Federation of BiH and relations within coalitions in FBiH Parliament and Government, did achieve significant results.
"The fact that there was significant increase in number of pensioners due to so called favorable retirement conditions during 2015 and 2016, which took place due to many contradictory regulations from area of pension and disability insurance, confirms that, which resulted in the accumulated lost of the FBiH Institute of Pension and Disability Insurance amounting to nearly 227 million KM on 29th November 2016," said Novalić.
Adoption of this law, which is a reform law and in line with the EU regulations, reminded Prime Minister Novalić, implies that FZ PIO will do its activities via treasury, which guarantees stability and security of pension payments without delays.
"Some positive effects of the new law is also increase of pensions to persons who retired by 31st July 1998 by ten percent, and to persons retired by 31st December 2007 by five percent," reminded Novalić.
He added this increase includes nearly 108.000 pensioners.
"Apart from this, we also increased pensions to all pensioners by 3.5 percent in accordance with the new law," underlined Prime Minister Novalić.
As a result of all these activities of the FBiH Government in sector of pension and disability insurance, said Novalić, there is a completely stable PIO system with secure and regular pensions and their stabilized growth, despite evident increase in number of pensioners.
