He informed Prime Minister Othmani about the ongoing economic and political situation in BiH and the country’s progress on the EU path.

Zvizdić and El Othmani agreed that the cooperation between BiH and the Kingdom of Morocco is at a high level, but that it is not accompanied by economic cooperation, and that in the coming period the emphasis should be on strengthening the links between business entities of the two countries.

Zvizdić said that BiH has an interest in a more intensive cooperation, especially in the sectors of dedicated, metal, wood, food and textile industries, also tourism, culture and education.

He pointed out that in the last three years the tourism sector has achieved great growth and has urged the citizens of Morocco to visit BiH.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH said that it is necessary to continue activities on visa liberalization between BiH and Morocco. He underlined the importance of ratifying the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

The two officials also discussed the signing of a cooperation agreement in the field of air traffic and agreed that the opening of the direct air link between BiH and Morocco would significantly improve the prospects for exchange of goods and tourist visits.

Zvizdić said that BiH has great export potential and emphasized that the delegation also includes representatives of businesses from Bosnia and Herzegovina who will present their potentials at a business forum that will be held tomorrow in Casablanca.

He informed the Prime Minister about EU and NATO aspirations of BiH and said that these processes lead Bosnia and Herzegovina towards economic progress and membership in the European Union.

El Othmani thanked Zvizdić for the visit and said that Morocco wants cooperation with BiH in all areas and emphasized special attention towards support and exchange of investments between the two countries.

He especially underlined cooperation in the field of agriculture, as well as education, sports and culture.

Zvizdić said that BiH is open to cooperation in all areas and emphasized the importance of opening the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in BiH.

He invited the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting was also attended by the Federation of BiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić.

Before the meeting with the President of the Moroccan Government, Zvizdić visited the Mausoleum of H.E. Mohammad V and the grave of H.E. Hassan II and signed the Golden Book.

Chairman Zvizdić met today in Rabat with the Speaker of the House of Representatives Habib El-Malki and the Speaker of the House of Councilors Abdelhakim Benchamach and discussed bilateral relations between BiH and the Kingdom of Morocco.

During the meeting, it was pointed out that the relations of the two countries are good and friendly, which resulted in signed bilateral agreements, but that there is plenty of room for improvement of economic cooperation.

El Malki and Benchamach said that parliamentary delegations of BiH and the Kingdom of Morocco have good cooperation, and that economic ties are getting better each year.

Zvizdić informed the Speakers of both Houses about the positive steps BiH has taken on its path to the EU, and expressed expectations that the activation of the MAP and NATO membership would follow soon.

The two sides expressed commitment that in the coming period, cooperation in all fields will be improved and further efforts will be invested in increasing the investments.
