SARAJEVO, August 20 (FENA) - Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein effendi Kavazović today issued his message of congratulations to the faithful on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Adha also known as Qurban Bayram, calling for devotion to the family and the need for hope and faith in community among all mankind.
Kavazović said that today is the day of Arafat and tomorrow we celebrate Qurban Bayram. Millions of Muslims from all over the world have gathered in the Valley of Mecca to testify to the faith in one God, but also the common roots of the human race.
“All of us, regardless of all our differences, are born from one father and one mother. Ibrahim, a.s., whose sacrifice we remember in the days of Bayram, is our symbol of faith in one God. Even today, when we often feel that we have no power to change the things around us, we can recall the strength of Ibrahim's faith. It was precisely the strength of his faith that changed the world,” said Rais Kavazović.
He added that today, as well as then, we need a new hope and belief that it is possible to achieve brotherhood of all mankind.
He wished to all Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina blessed Eid holidays, especially remembering those persecuted, exiled, the sick and disenfranchised with a prayer to God Almighty to be with them.
“I congratulate Eid holidays with special joy to our brothers in Croatia, Slovenia, Sandžak, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and the Bosniak diaspora and to all Muslim worldwide with the word Bayram Serif Mubarak Olsun,” said Rais Kavazović in his Eid message.
