BiH CoM approves additional funds for enhanced state border control

SARAJEVO, August 16 (FENA) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina today reached decisions on approving about 460,000 KM from the current budget reserve to the BiH Border Police, the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) for the settlement of travel and accommodation expenses and food and accommodation of police officers additionally engaged in intensified monitoring of the state border in order to combat illegal migration.

The Ministry of Security and the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH will implement these three decisions.

The Council of Ministers of BiH has established the Proposal of the Grant Agreement for Development Objectives between the United States of America, via the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and BiH through the Public Procurement Agency of BiH for the development goal of combating corruption.

This is a grant worth eight million US dollars, which USAID will allocate for improvement of the capacities of the BiH Public Procurement Agency to implement more transparent public procurement procedures.

The funds will also be directed to strengthening key processes for preventing corruption in institutions and increasing supervision and conducting anti-corruption activities in BiH, stated the BiH Council of Ministers.
