Foreigners Affairs Service urges all to use 'E-stranac' registration system

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 16 (FENA) - The Foreigners Affairs Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina Office reminds all legal and private entities that provide accommodation services to foreign nationals in BiH that they are obliged to register foreigners with this service.

At the same time, the law also prescribes sanctions for failure to comply with this obligation, both for accommodation providers and for foreigners who have stayed in BiH, stated the Foreigners Affairs Service of BiH.

The Service notes that this legal obligation, thanks to the newly established "E-stranac" online system, all legal and private entities in a very simple and efficient way can complete the registration via www.estranac.ba website.

The system enables considerable savings in resources, as well as time.

The online registration system for foreigners residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been put in operation on June 12 this year.

Since then, all hoteliers, hostel or apartments owners, or other facilities providing accommodation services to foreigners in BiH can get in contact with the Foreigners Affairs Service in order to start using this system.

The system has been developed under the project "Support to the efficient management of migration and the border in BiH", funded by the Government of the Swiss Confederation, implemented in cooperation between the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Foreigners Affairs Service of BiH and the Criminal Policy Research Center (CPRC) in Sarajevo.
