BANJA LUKA, August 14 (FENA) - The National Assembly of RS (RSNA) in today’s session dismissed the 2004 Srebrenica Commission Report and has obliged the RS Government to put it out of force, it is stated, among other, in the harmonized conclusions of the Serb parties in the entity parliament.

The conclusions, which were rejected only by the members of the "Homeland" Coalition, state that the RS Parliament considers that “the RS Government should form an independent international commission, which would objectively and impartially determine the suffering of Serbs in the Srebrenica region in the period 1992 to1995, as well as in Sarajevo in the period from 1991 to 1995.

The RS National Assembly believes, which is also integral part of the conclusions to be up for the vote after the session, that the deadline for the work of the newly appointed independent international commissions should not exceed one year.

The deputies of the Serb parties believe that “a conclusion should be adopted in which the Parliament expresses its commitment to investigate the truth about the events in the Srebrenica region in the period 1992 to 1995, as it will strengthen mutual trust in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region and eliminate manipulation of these events, and that the results should be presented to relevant domestic and international institutions and the public in order to prevent further manipulation of the destinies of true victims and their families.”

They argue that the Commission's Report on events in and around Srebrenica from 10 to 19 July 1995, was comprised "under the pressure of the High Representative in BiH and the international community", and that the Commission had worked "under strong pressure of the High Representative with pre-determined results that it was obliged to achieve", stating that “the Commission was clearly not independent in its work.”

The RSNA rejects the Commission's Report on events in and around Srebrenica from 10 to 19 July 1995 because "it is not in line with the commitment of RS institutions to reach objective and true interpretation of the events and the strengthening of mutual trust in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region".

“The National Assembly of RS concludes that the Commission was prevented from dealing with the suffering of the Serb people in the wider area of Srebrenica and that its recommendations state that the overall knowledge of the events in and around Srebrenica is possible only after considering the full historical context.”

The RSNA believes that the Commission Report on the events in and around Srebrenica from 10 to 19 July 1995 "has manipulated the truth and has tried to change the character of the war in BiH, all for the purpose of weakening the position of RS".

The conclusions also state that the parliament is of the opinion that “the reports from the Final Report of the RS Government’s Working Group on Srebrenica from 30 March and 30 September 2005 were prepared outside of the framework of the Decision of the Human Rights Chamber of BiH, under the inadequate and biased pressures of international representatives in BiH, and as such they are purposeless and redundant, and the RS Government should put them out of force”.
