SARAJEVO/BERLIN, August 14 (FENA) – Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić met with Chancellor of FR Germany Angela Merkel in Berlin yesterday.
They discussed enhancement of bilateral relations, European path of BiH, Berlin Process and regional issues of the Western Balkans.
Chairman Zvizdić thanked Chancellor Merkel for inviting him and said this visit is very important, especially because Germany is one of the key factors for the new European approach to BiH. He also thanked her for her personal engagement and engagement of FR Germany in launching German-British initiative, which unblocked the European integration process and accelerated European perspective of BiH and the entire Western Balkan region.
He emphasized that priorities of BiH remain the EU and NATO path, economic stability, rule of law and security.
Chairman Zvizdić said that bilateral relations with Germany are extremely good, stressing that Germany is our most important partner, and that trade exchange between the states shows positive results.
Chancellor Merkel repeated that BiH and the Western Balkans have clear European perspective and Germany's support on that path. She added that support to NATO integration of BiH is unquestionable, stressing that Germany helps economic progress of BiH, which is crucial so young people would have perspective to stay. She emphasized that cooperation between the Western Balkan states improved thanks to the Berlin Process and that areas of science, education and research hold great importance for development of the Western Balkan countries, Council of Ministers of BiH stated.
