Amir Ligata acquitted of tax evasion charges under first-instance verdict

SARAJEVO, August 10 (FENA) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered Trial Judgment in the case of Amir Ligata, which acquitted the accused Amir Ligata of the charges that he committed the criminal offense of Tax Evasion or Fraud under Article 210(1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Pursuant to Article 284, Subparagraph c), of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the accused was acquitted of the charges that between 1 January 2016 and 30 June 2016, in Sarajevo, in his capacity as director of the Carbo Trade d.o.o. Sarajevo company, in violation of Articles 55 and 56 of the Value/Added Tax Law, he failed to issue taxable invoices to his customers for the goods sold, to keep taxable turnover business records for the company, or the Outgoing Invoice Book, or tax return records, nor has he calculated, reported or paid Value/Added Tax.

Under the Indictment, the accused was charged that by the foregoing activities he damaged the BiH budget in the amount of 40,821.00 KM, stated the BiH Court.
