SARAJEVO, August 1 (FENA) - The anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) was marked last night with a ceremony in Sarajevo, in honor of the army that was formed 91 years ago.
A number of officials gathered at the reception that was hosted by the military attaché in the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in BiH Luo Tiefeng with his wife Liu Yang.
The reception was, among others, attended by defense officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Defense Minister Marina Pendeš.
Luo said that China and BiH, despite vast geographical distance, have always good friends and partners.
“Sarajevo has always been well known in China. China values its friendship with BiH, respects the choice to join the European family and wishes you stability and prosperity,” said Luo.
He added that the relations between the armed forces of the two countries have improved over the past several years, and that there will be even more cooperation in the coming period, which was agreed upon during the last year's visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.
“As a military attaché, I am ready to work with my BiH colleagues to implement what has been agreed between our ministers and on the deepening of friendship and good relations between the armed forces," said Luo.
He also said that China is a peaceful country that is the second largest donor in peacekeeping operations, and that it will remain committed to world peace.
