SARAJEVO, July 30 (FENA) - The Rector of the University of Sarajevo Rifat Škrijelj anda representative of the consortium IMAR Urban Consultants and ahA + knAp Khalid Abdulrahman Othman Hassan today signed an agreement for the audit of the executive project and supervision over the construction and equipping of the library of the University of Sarajevo.
The value of the project is about USD 22 million, and the funds are provided by the Saudi Development Fund.
The library building will be located at the UNSA campus, with a space of 15,500 square meters and will be able to store close to a million books.
The idea for a library came in 2010, and the activities on its implementation were intensified by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to BiH Hani Abdullah M. Mominah.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina has the potential for development and we will do our best to help the country’s progress,” said Mominah, adding that the signing of today's agreement is just another proof that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is providing full support to the friendly country of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Khalid Abdulrahman Hassan expressed hope that there will be similar projects and donations to assist BiH, pointing out that BiH has great prospects for development, and they plan to contribute with different projects to this development.
The library construction should begin in early 2019 and will last two years.
