BUGOJNO, July 29 (FENA) - A closing of the multi-day event, "A Prayer for the Martyrs, A Warning for the Living", was held today in Vrbanja near BUgojno.
The event marked the 25th anniversary of the killing of 45 civilians in Vrbanja and in the neighboring settlements Vrpeć and Crniče.
"The places of killing and suffering of the Bosniak people are everywhere around us. We must know and remember that after the Second World War, the cruelest crime, the crime of expulsion, ethnic cleansing, killing, rape was committed against the Bosniak people... The crime of genocide, as the first one in Europe since the Holocaust.
We must be proud as people, regardless of the scale and everything that happened to us that the Bosniaks have not opted for revenge, but we have not forgotten. We must never forget and we will not forget what happened to us. We must not allow this because of all who were killed in the war, but also for our sake, and for future generations," said Vice-president of the Federation of BiH, Melika Mahmutbegović at the commemoration in Vrbanja.
