Wigemark in Bosanski Petrovac to discuss accommodation of migrants in the area

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 25 (FENA) - Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative Lars-Gunnar Wigemark met today with the Mayor of Bosanski Petrovac, Zlatko Hujić and discussed the potential location for the accommodation of migrants.

The Municipal Council of Bosanski Petrovac yesterday made a conclusion, firmly rejecting any proposal of their accommodation at the site of Medeno polje.

The temporary solution for migrant families has already been resolved by placing them in Sedra Hotel in Cazin, and according to Wigemark, the resolution for other categories of migrant population should follow, and a possible solution could be the location between Bosanski Petrovac and Bihać in Lipa.

At the meeting, Hujić reiterated his opposition to the accommodation of migrants in Medeno polje area, that was also confirmed at an extraordinary session of the Municipal Council, but also pointed out that the municipality will try to find an adequate solution, stated the Municipality of Bosanski Petrovac.
