SARAJEVO, July 24 (FENA) - NATO HQ Sarajevo has donated four vehicles for the needs of institutions and organizations in BiH, two of them to the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and one each to the Novo Goražde Municipality and the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in RS.
The donation includes used motor vehicles, brands Mercedes, Nissan and Toyota, and a Volkswagen van.
On this occasion, a handover ceremony was held at Camp Butmir today, attended by the Commander of the NATO HQ Sarajevo, Brigadier General Marti J. Bissell and representatives of the aforementioned institutions and organizations.
General Bissell pointed out that, since the establishment of NATO HQ Sarajevo in 2004, it has fostered partnership relations with local organizations, including non-governmental organizations that provide assistance to local communities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She underlined that NATO remains committed to providing assistance to civil society organizations in BiH, and expressed satisfaction that such a kind of support is going to the three aforementioned organizations, which have a special and important role in BiH society.
“NATO recognizes the importance of what these organizations are doing to help BiH citizens. We remain dedicated to supporting peace, stability and security, not only in BiH, but also throughout the Western Balkans region,” said General Bissell in a statement to the media.
