FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 24 (FENA) - High Representative in BiH, Valentin Inzko extended condolences to the Mothers of Srebrenica Association over the death of the association's president, Hatidža Mehmedović.

"Hatidža will remain in our memory as a true fighter for truth and justice. With her determination and clear-headed views, she was and will remain an inspiration to all those who fight for the truth and good in this world," Inzko said in a letter of condolence, stated the OHR.

"As a High Representative, but primarily as a human being, I would like to say that I was honored to have had the opportunity to meet Hatidža. In my heart, she will remain a symbol of the inexorable power of a Bosnian woman, a Bosnian human being, who regardless of suffering and pain, does not cease to fight. She will be remembered as a person who was hit by a great tragedy, but despite all her pain she was indescribably dignified.

The unthinkable pain brought on her by the Srebrenica genocide, taking away her sons, husband, father and brothers, Hatidža mended in a manner worthy of utmost respect and admiration,” wrote Inzko in his letter.
