SARAJEVO, July 24 (FENA) - The EU Info Center in Bosnia and Herzegovina today in Sarajevo presented the EU Program – Turning Ideas into Reality, with the aim of motivating applicants to apply for EU programs: Creative Europe, Europe for Citizens and Horizon 2020.

Creative Europe is a European Union fund to support cultural and audiovisual projects for the period 2014-2020, amounting to EUR 1,460,000,000.

Bosnia and Herzegovina joined this program in 2014, by signing the Memorandum and paying each year an entry ticket in the amount of EUR 205,000.

Leader of the Creative Europe Desk in Bosnia and Herzegovina Aida Kalender, Expert Evaluator for Horizon 2020, Coordinator of the Researchers Night in BiH Aiste Lehmann and a contact person for the Europe for Citizens Program, and an Expert Advisor at the BiH Ministry of Justice Goran Kučera presented the goals and priorities of the programs, technical characteristics of the public calls and the ways of re-examining one’s ideas.

“Our goal, by promoting this fund, is to increase the number of applicants in BiH and, therefore, increase the amount of funds drawn for culture and the culture sector in our country,” said Kalender.

Our culture sector, said Kalender, is relatively good in drawing the funds from this program, it could be better, but this year for the first time the MESS Festival from Sarajevo has withdrawn funds in the maximum amount of 200,000 euros for the project in which they are the leader, and the Sarajevo Film Festival regularly receives funds from the Creative Europe Fund.

Kalender reminded that the Fund will last until 20120, but after that, a new program will emerge as It has been announced already, where even more funds will be allocated, and events like this one serve to promote the application process itself.

She emphasized that the Info Day is intended for representatives of all legal entities - institutions, organizations or enterprises in the field of culture - public cultural institutions, cultural and art societies, civil society organizations and enterprises dealing with culture, educational, scientific and research institutions, as well as independent artists.

The Creative Europe program is intended to strengthen and develop the cultural, creative and audiovisual sector, and consists of two sub-programs - Media and Culture.

Europe for Citizens is an EU program aimed at promoting the concept of "active European citizenship" and supporting citizens' involvement in European integration processes.

Horizon 2020 is the largest EU research and innovation program with a budget of almost 80 billion euros for the period 2014-2020.

Info Day is realized in cooperation with Creative Europe Desk BiH and Ministry of Justice of BiH.
