SARAJEVO, July 19 (FENA) - Re-exhumation and re-association of previously buried 80 victims of genocide in Srebrenica, which started on July 12 at the Memorial Center in Potočari, concluded today.
Spokesperson of the Missing Persons Institute of BiH Lejla Čengić told FENA that identity of the posthumous remains was determined based on DNA analysis.
Genocide victims were mostly found in secondary, relocated mass graves, or on the surface of the field, which is why the remains were incomplete.
"Whether the incomplete body will be buried or a certain period will pass to partially complete the skeleton depends exclusively on the family," said Čengić.
Čengić reminded that posthumous remains of 822 more victims that have been buried and to which body parts will be added subsequently are at the Podrinje Identification Project in Tuzla.
Next re-association will be done in October this year.
