CEC BiH verifies 642 candidate lists for general elections 2018

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO July 19 (FENA) - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session has verified 642 candidate lists that met the statutory conditions, while 166 candidate lists have been found to have shortcomings.

Until the deadline for submitting candidate lists, i.e., July 9, the candidate lists were submitted by 58 political parties and 36 coalitions. 808 candidate lists were submitted, with 7,600 candidates.

The shortcomings relate to inadequate representation of the genders in accordance with the provisions of the law, resignation of candidates or the fact that a candidate does not have a permanent residency in the constituency for which he has been nominated, as well as for other reasons.

Political entities whose candidate lists have been found to have shortcomings will be informed that they will be able to remove these shortcomings within five days, that is until Tuesday, July 24, until 16.00 hrs., stated the CEC BiH.
