TUZLA/SARAJEVO, July 16 (FENA) - The U.S. Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack visited Thermal Power Plant "Tuzla" today and learnt about business activities of the thermal power plant and preparatory activities for building of Block 7 of 450 MW.
The U.S. Ambassador, along with Director General of Public Company Elektroprivreda BiH (EP BiH) Bajazit Jašarević and Director of TE "Tuzla" Izet Džananović visited location of the future Block 7, replacement for blocks 1,2,3 and 4, which will be built as a block for production of electricity and heat (cogeneration block) of high efficiency, with application of modern technologies for limitation of the environmental impact.
Building of Block 7 of TE "Tuzla", with planned annual production of 2.739,81 GWh of electricity and 390,9 GWh of heat, will secure a long-term supply of heating energy for Tuzla and Lukavac, and perspective energy for Živinice and other cities.
According to the planned dynamic, Block 7 should be in function during 2023. Deadline for construction works is 56 months, and trial period is six months.
Elektroprivreda BiH emphasized commitment for using the highest ecological standards during construction, which will secure the emission of pollutants to be below the allowed border values, regulated by directives of the European Union.
During her talk with management of the company, Ambassador Cormack pointed to importance of investments of PC Elektroprivreda BiH for electric-energy system of BiH, contribution to its stability and integrity. Supporting the Block 7, Cormack emphasized importance of meeting the highest ecological standards, which will contribute to better quality of life of local community.
