Indictment confirmed in Maksim Božić et al. case for crime of terrorism

SARAJEVO, July 9 (FENA) - On 4 July 2018, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment charging the accused Maksim Božić and Edin Hastor with the criminal offense of Terrorism under Article 201(4) as read with Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC BiH), all in conjunction with Article 29 of the CC BiH.

The Indictment alleges that the accused Maksim Božić, from mid-June 2017 to 10 April 2018 planned and prepared the procurement of means for, and took other actions to create conditions to carry out a terrorist act, with the intention to intimidate the population and force the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina to make certain steps aimed at destabilizing political and constitutional structures of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so Maksim Božić repeatedly made contact with members of a radical Salafi movement in BiH, including Edin Hastor, and planned and took actions to create conditions to carry out a terrorist act, attempting to obtain money and purchase weapons of heavy lethal power, specifically RPG, machine gun M84, hand grenades, ammunition and grenades so as to launch an attack on the building of the BiH State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) in Sarajevo and the building of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP TK).

For the purpose of carrying out the planned terrorist act, in mid-June 2017 Maksim Božić asked the protected witness „A“ to record a video message for him about jihad and death, after he obtains for him the weapons to carry out the planned terrorist act, and release it to the media following the completion of his attack, for which purpose, in March 2018, knowing that Maksim Božić was planning a terrorist act – attack on the SIPA building in Sarajevo and MUP TK building in Tuzla, Edin Hastor provided the premises of his own family home where they stashed the illegally obtained weapons, lethal devices, ammunition and military equipment for the purpose if carrying out the terrorist act planned by Maksim Božić, all of which was seized during the search of the house conducted by SIPA, stated the BiH Court.
