SARAJEVO, July 5 (FENA) - Posthumous remains of 35 genocide victims will be buried at the collective burial at the Potočari Memorial Center on July 11 this year.

Spokesperson of the Missing Persons Institute of BiH Lejla Čengić told FENA that there are four underage victims among the identified persons.
"They are boys who were 16 and 17 when they were killed. The youngest was Vesid Ibrić. He was 16 at the time and his posthumous remains were found in mass grave Liplje, in area of Zvornik in 2001," said Čengić.
Čengić emphasized this is the lowest number of victims that will be buried at the collective burial at the Memorial Center in Potočari.
She added the reason for that is that no mass graves have been discovered lately.
"Namely, the last mass grave that was discovered was Rašića Gaj, in area of Vlasenica, from which posthumous remains of three victims were exhumed in 2016," reminded Čengić.
So far 6.575 victims of genocide have been buried at the Memorial Center in Potočari and 235 at local cemeteries out of Potočari, according to decisions made by the families.
"This year 35 victims will be buried. It is important to note there are still posthumous remains of 167 victims at the Podrinje Identification Center in Tuzla. They are mostly incomplete posthumous remains. Their identity was determined based on DNA analysis but their families still have not decided on the burial, mostly due to incomplete posthumous remains," said Čengić.
She reminded they are still searching for more than 1000 victims of genocide in Srebrenica.
