SARAJEVO, June 28 (FENA) - Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees of FBiH Edin Ramić signed contracts in Sarajevo today with 47 returnees from 15 municipalities to support development of startup businesses.
"It is my pleasure that we are successfully implementing startup business for the second year, and this year with financial support of 300.000 KM. All businessmen-returnees who applied to the public call and delivered valid documentation received the support," stated Ramić.
He confirmed that entrepreneurial spirit is felt in returnee settlements based on the Startup Business Support Program, where people are more encouraged in designing business ideas.
"The fact that we have twice as many users this year than last year proves that, which shows there are ideas in returnee settlements. More confidence and knowledge is necessary, and institutions will guarantee support," Ramić stated.
One of the beneficiaries is technologist Esma Zjajo from Jajce, who was grateful for the funds, which she said will help her improve pasta production system.
"I am happy I will be able to replace the old machine, especially because I am able to continue doing what I was educated to do. In that regard, I hope that awareness of consumers will change in BiH and that they will buy domestic products more," added Zjajo.
This-year's public call for support to startup businesses was established based on principles that envision equal representation of different regions and business programs.
