SARAJEVO, June 27 (FENA) - Association "Women-Victims of War" marked today 26 years of “Living Bonfire”, crime committed against Višegrad Bosniaks in Adem Omeragić’s house in Pionirska sreet and Meho Aljić’s house in Bikavac.
President of the Association Bakira Hasečić told FENA they called all competent bodies to help find the bones of murdered civilians so they can be buried with dignity.
“Time is passing by and we have no information. Victims need to find their peace,” emphasized Hasečić.
She called judicial bodies and the international community to help find posthumous remains but she believes only those who committed crimes know exactly where the bones are and they should speak.
“They have had 26 years to think about it. It is high time for them to say where they buried the innocent victims that were burnt alive,” said Hasečić.
International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia declared the crime in Pionirska Street a crime against humanity, convicting Milan Lukić to life sentence and Sredoje Lukić to 27 years in prison.
