SARAJEVO, June 22 (FENA) - The Municipal Civil Protection Staff of Olovo has issued a decision on the proclamation of a state of natural disaster in five local communities: Olovo, Olovska Luka, Petrovići, Gurdići and Dugandžići, confirmed to FENA spokesperson of the FBiH Civil Protection Administration Majda Kovač, stressing that the stormy weather, heavy rainfall since yesterday afternoon has engulfed the entire municipality.

The water level of the Stupanica River has risen and torrential streams flooded parts of the municipality of Olovo, Olovska Luka, Gurdići and Dugandžići.

Kovač says that the bridges in Dugandžići and Gurdici have been destroyed, and all roads in this area are damaged. The sewerage network and drains are all clogged.

Approximately 200 inhabitants of the area have been cut off from the rest of the municipality. The torrential rains also destroyed raspberry plants.

“The Civil defense teams are on the ground and are trying to stabilize the situation,” said Kovač.
