SARAJEVO, June 21 (FENA) - State Minister of Human Rights and Refugees Semiha Borovac attended a ceremony today to mark the beginning of construction of a building with 48 flats in Trebinje, within implementation of project CEB2 – Closing of Collective Centers.
Borovac also visited Pensioners' Home in Trebinje, which is being restored from funds planned for solving the issue of collective centers.
"After completion of works on these two facilities, collective and alternative centers will be closed in Trebinje, but it is also solve the issue of socially endangered pensioners," Minister Borovac told FENA.
She emphasized that the City of Trebinje has received around four million KM participating in the project CEB2 – Closing of Collective Centers and Regional Housing Program, which will solve overall housing issue of internally displaced persons and persons in collective centers.
Project "Closing Collective Centers and Alternative Accommodation through Provision of Public Housing Solutions - CEB 2“ is being implemented in 45 cities and municipalities in BiH and it should result in closing 121 collective centers.
Project CEB 2 is implemented by Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH by competent entity ministries, bodies of local authority and competent cantonal ministries/administrations in the Federation of BiH and UNHCR.
According to planned activities for 2018, beginning of works is expected in Srebrenik, Kladanj, Gradiška and Modriča, within which 142 flats will be built for families that are living in collective centers.
Total of 19 buildings will be built in BiH during 2018 with 676 flats for most endangered families who are living in collective centers.
