BANJA LUKA, June 18 (FENA) - It is our mutual intent to improve cooperation between RS and Serbia in the sector of military industry, said today in Banja Luka, after the meeting in Banja Luka the entity president Milorad Dodik and Minister of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin.
Today, they will sign a contract on cooperation with the Banja Luka based company "Kosmos", and Vulin said that the company can count on RSD 100 million from the Ministry of Defense of Serbia.
“In accordance with the agreement made with RS President Milorad Dodik, the Ministry of Defense of Serbia has secured RSD 850 million (14.1 million KM) for different needs of the RS military industry, more precisely, for the repair of tank and airplane engines,” said Vulin at a press conference.
He pointed out that “Serbia will make significant efforts to help and strengthen RS economically.”
Dodik claims that the cooperation between RS and Serbia in the field of military industry has been initiated for commercial reasons, “after the years of degradation, due to the interventionism of international factors, to boost this production in RS, with the support of Serbia.”
“There is a complete imbalance in BiH, because the Federation of BiH is still very functional in this sense and it has six arms and ammunition factories, while in RS everything is destroyed.
We are trying, not because of competition, but for commercial reasons, to jumpstart the production in RS and we have the support of the Ministry of Defense of Serbia,” Dodik said.
In addition to "Kosmos," Dodik added that the cooperation in military industry is also being realized with other companies in RS, such as "Orao" in Bijeljina and the special purpose engines factory in Pale.
