Photo exhibition 'Shadow of Memory' by Ron Haviv opens at Sarajevo City Hall

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, June 11 (FENA) - Exhibition of photographs by American photojournalist Ron Haviv, titled "Shadow of Memory", as part of the Memory Module Program, was first opened on 30 March at the Sarajevo City Hall, but as of Monday, 11 June, it reopened for all the visitors of the City Hall , and will be open until 2 July 2018.

It is a collection of rarely published or never seen photographs of this author, who is also a friend of Sarajevo dating back from the wartime period in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” stated the MESS Festival.

Visitors will have an opportunity to see the photos that are thematically divided into seven different stories recorded during the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina: "Sarajevo - April 6", "Bijeljina", "Life During the War", "War Camps", "Reunification" “Soldiers "and "Srebrenica".

“As I spend more time with my new works, I am forced to once again experience what I have forgotten. It reminds me that every single moment, whether photographed or not, has the right to be seen, felt and understood. As time passed by, memories continued to emerge from below the surface, waiting to be awakened and relived. Now is the time to shed light onto my shadows of the past,” said Haviv at the reopening of the exhibition.
