EU4Business-Initial public calls for EUR 10 million in grants at the end of 2018

SARAJEVO, June 7 (FENA) - The EU4Business project, valued at EUR16.1 million, seeks to help local development and competitiveness in local communities throughout BiH, it was highlighted today at the presentation of this project in Sarajevo.

From April 2018 to March 2022, the European Union with EUR 15 million and the SR Germany with EUR 1.1 million will jointly co-fund the project, implemented by GIZ, UNDP and ILO, in cooperation with domestic institutions.

Direct grant beneficiaries - in the total amount of 10 million euros - will be small and medium enterprises, farmers and fast growing companies.

Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative to BiH, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark said that support will be directed to companies that are export oriented, IT sector, metal and wood processing sectors, tourism, rural development and agricultural and food sectors.

German Ambassador to BiH Christine Hohmann believes that these joint efforts will succeed in making big changes when it comes to economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

GIZ Director in BiH Brigitte Heuel-Rolf pointed out that at the end of the year they will begin announcing the public calls for grants from the project "EU4Business", and that technical support will be provided along financial assistance.

One of the main goals of the project, according to UNDP Resident Representative in BiH Sezin Sinanoglu, is to bring Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to European standards and the European Union.
