ZENICA, June 6 (FENA) - As part of the extra budgetary project financed by the Republic of Italy during its presidency of the OSCE in 2018, the OSCE Mission to BiH and the Italian Embassy in BiH organized a final conference titled "The Role of parliaments and authorities in the fight against corruption in Bosnia and Herzegovina ", attended by representatives of parliamentary bodies and committees, representatives of the executive power at all levels, led by the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight against Corruption of BiH (APIK).
After introductory addresses by the organizers, three thematic working sessions were held with a focus on the conclusions and recommendations from the previous five workshops, as well as the exchange of acquired experiences and specific expertise from the region and Europe in the fight against corruption, whereby special emphasis was placed on the experience of the state authority for the fight against corruption in Italy (ANAC).
In the final part of the conference, the participants adopted the conclusions with recommendations for all levels of legislative and executive power in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with particular emphasis on the need for a systemic change of consciousness in combating corruption, that is, raising the level of general social perception of the existence of corruption as socially unacceptable behavior, and undertaking all the activities that would ultimately represent a shift from empty talk to concrete action, stated the press service of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
