British parliamentarians meet with FBiH parliament officials

SARAJEVO, May 30 (FENA) - British delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), headed by Nigel Evans, Chairman of the British Group, met today with the officials of the Federation of BiH Parliament, Lidija Bradara, the House of Peoples Speaker and Edin Mušić, Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Bradara and Mušić informed the guests from Great Britain about the setup and functioning of the House of Peoples and the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They emphasized that they are equal houses that differ in structure and number, as well as in the manner of election of deputies or delegates.

Speaker of the House of Peoples, Lidija Bradara highlighted the particularities of this House whose deputies are elected from the cantonal assemblies and as such they have not only an obligation to advocate for civic but also for national interests of constituent peoples.

The UK delegation with the IPU is in visit to our country since the beginning of the week with the aim to acquire better understanding of the situation in BiH and improve relations between the United Kingdom and BiH after Brexit.
