SARAJEVO, May 30 (FENA) - According to the relevant information available to the Sarajevo Cantonal Civil Protection Administration, today, tomorrow, as well as in the next few days there is a high likelihood of sudden and severe storms, manifested through the occurrence of abundant rainfall, thunder, hail and strong winds in the Canton area, this administration stated today.
Such severe weather, they warn, can cause floods, landslides and rock falls, which is why they recommend that all legal and natural persons immediately take preventive measures in order to protect the health and life of people, as well as material and cultural goods, prescribed by the Law on Protection and Rescue of People and Material Goods against Natural and Other Disasters.
They also stress that the Sarajevo Cantonal Civil Protection Administration has already taken measures and activities in accordance with its legal and sub-legal obligations in order to respond in the best way with its professional and technical capacities for protection and rescue in situations when it assesses that the civil protection services of municipalities, as well as communal services and other legal entities, are not in a position to adequately respond to natural and other disasters in the course of carrying out tasks from their regular activities, the SC Press Service stated.
