SARAJEVO, May 29 (FENA) - The main topic pointed out by almost all those who published the articles in the Almanac from the scientific conference with the international participation "Solution of the Croat Issue for a European BiH" that was promoted today in Sarajevo, dealt with the need to achieve a balance between collective and individual rights.

The Almanac was promoted today under the auspices of the BiH Presidency Member Dragan Čović, and the organizers of the promotion were the University of Mostar, the Rector's Assembly of the Republic of Croatia, the Croat Academy of Sciences and Arts in BiH, the Department for Science and Education of the Croat National Assembly of BiH and the Institute for Social and Political Research Mostar.

The promoter of the Almanac was the Rector of the University of Mostar, Zoran Tomić, who said that this almanac offered solutions and possibilities for overcoming of identified problems concerning the constitutiveness and equality of Croats in BiH.

He says that the intention was to give academic and professional views on BiH, in particular on relations within BiH, adding that he offered a platform for dialogue and the opening of a critical space to talk in about 40 works written in about 600 pages in which more than 70 experts participated.

“Through the works, it is evident that one of the key objectives was to point out the values of the European Union and the need for BiH's path towards the EU. The best way to do this is the path of equality and constitutiveness,” Mr. Tomić emphasized.

Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, Ugo Vlaisavljević presented several theses from the Almanac, one of which refers to the view that the current constitutional order of BiH is not compatible with the EU acquis communautaire.

He also said that the constitutiveness of the people was a constitutional principle above all other principles, stating that 90 percent of people in the past elections have confirmed their identity and should look the truth in the eyes and stop referring to some other censuses.
