SARAJEVO, May 22 (FENA) - The BiH Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegović received today the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to BiH, Mahmoud Heidari.
Heidari informed Izetbegović about the ongoing situation in Iran and its position after the withdrawal of the United States of America from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action known commonly as the Iran nuclear deal.
The Iranian Ambassador said that Iran remains committed to respecting its obligations under the Agreement, provided that other signatories to the Agreement ensure the respect for Iran's economic interests in the event of the introduction of economic sanctions by the United States.
Izetbegović informed his guest that Bosnia and Herzegovina joined the statement of the High Representative Federica Mogherini that she issued on behalf of the European Union on May 9 over the withdrawal of the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action between the Islamic Republic of Iran and E3 + 3.
Izetbegović pointed to the necessity of respecting international obligations regarding the status of Jerusalem, and reiterated his earlier stance of condemnation of the brutal murders of unarmed Palestinian protesters who lost their lives in an effort to show the world the decades-long humiliation and injustice that the Palestinian people endures, states the BiH Presidency.
